Rachel and Dave
A downtown Pittsburgh dream…

I met Rachel ironically through my own wedding. She photographed our wedding in October of 2022, and did such a fantastic job! Not only did I see how stunning her work was, from engagement photos, to branding photos, mini sessions, all the way to the wedding, I also saw how kind of a person she was. I immediately knew I wanted to be friends with her!
Then the time came for her own wedding in May of 2023. When she approached me about capturing her wedding film, I could not have been more excited! We had multiple conversations about her vision for the film, as well as my goal of capturing their true selves and achieving an authentic, timeless look.
This is always my goal for my wedding films: capturing the day in such a way that your film looks and feels like you! To me, your wedding film is not a production, it is a collection of beautiful, yet fleeting moments. I believe these moments should be captured as they naturally occur, without much prompting or guidance, in order to achieve something amazing. If my couples are willing to really lean into the process on their wedding day, just being themselves and not holding back, then the film will reflect that and it is always WELL worth it!

For those new here, I’m Logan, a Pittsburgh wedding videographer! I specialize in documentary style wedding videography, focusing on the real, fun, candid, and in-between moments. I am also a Pittsburgh based wedding photographer as well! For both photography and videography, my style can be described as more neutral and cool in tones, and fun and authentic in the vibes!
Now back to Rachel and Dave’s wedding, the Downtown Pittsburgh dream! Both the bride and groom got ready at the Joinery Hotel, with their ceremony and reception taking place at the Museum Lab. The Joinery Hotel offered the perfect getting ready space, featuring bright and clean rooms and suites, and so many stunning spots throughout the building to capture both photo and video throughout the morning and afternoon. If you’re looking for a mix of modern, classy and retro vibes for your getting ready location on your wedding day, the Joinery Hotel is absolutely the place for you.
Rachel and Dave took advantage of what I call A Day in the Life, a video session prior to your wedding that captures you and your fiancé as a couple just doing you. During the session, we just capture the things you do in your everyday lives: get a cup of coffee, take your dog for a walk, grab a drink with some friends, play a card game, etc. The goal is to capture fun, realistic, and intimate moments - the kind of moments you look back on as some of your favorite memories with your person. No matter how mundane or ordinary these activities are in your lives, they’re special and unique to your relationship, and are such a fantastic way to capture the two of you in a relaxed environment without the nerves or time constraints of the wedding day! The footage captured from this session is later incorporated into your wedding film to better tell your story and show who you really are. As a bonus, you also receive a short teaser video to get a small glimpse of what to expect after the wedding! Check out Rachel and Dave’s “A Day in the Life” video below!
Now the moment you’ve been waiting for: the final wedding film. Rachel and Dave received an amazing wedding video for multiple reasons. First, they took advantage of adding things like the Day in the Life video session and Super 8mm film video onto their package. Both of these things helped enhance their video, taking it to the next level and giving it that timeless, nostalgic feel that we all love. Next, they planned their day extremely well. They scheduled a first look so they could have more time together during the day, and kept everything spaced out well enough so they could appropriately navigate any hiccups during the day (which DID in fact occur), but also really EXPERIENCE all of their moments during the day. They were not rushed, and therefore not stressed. This is so important! And lastly, they were willing to just be themselves the entire day, regardless of the cameras that were there. They laughed, they cried, they danced. They had the time of their lives. I always tell current and potential couples of mine, if you’re willing to show me YOU on your wedding day, then you’ll receive a wedding film that looks and feels like you. Rachel and Dave did just that, and their wedding film and photos completely reflect it. Take a page out of their book, and see what beautiful things can be captured on YOUR wedding day!
xoxo,
Cheers to an amazing group of vendors…
